A Korean Wedding
Our friend Rory got married on a Saturday to a Korean girl named Ji-Hye. 'Twas the first Korean wedding I had ever been to. Unfortunately, Adrian couldn't make it because he had to teach, but here are some pics.
I hope Rory doesn't mind that I'm posting about him, because I kind of forgot to ask, but anyways, here's the wedding hall (above) with the parents on either side. The aisle, or runway, was really interesting - silky cloth with rose petals scattered all over that, with flourescent lights to accent, all within a glass walkway. Afterward the two got to blow out a red and a blue candle atop a cardboard/plastic wedding cake that flashed with neon lights, and stage smoke billowed out everywhere...
This is Rory and Ji-Hye in their traditional hanbok- Korean clothes used for ceremonial purposes mainly- during the dinner afterward. All in all, it was a quick, 2-hour ordeal (including a buffet dinner) sandwiched between two other weddings that took place in the same hall that day. Quel blaste!
